Funding will continue to be the issue
for language initiatives now… and in the future. |

Without immediate community-wide changes and additional
language programming, the Ktunaxa Language will become
extinct. Current Ktunaxa teaching programs will not
achieve the objective of maintaining Ktunaxa as a spoken
language. |

Saving the Ktunaxa Language can be achieved
through community action, personal commitment, and by
implementing a set of possible and affordable new programs.

Focussed implementation of a strongly
developed program, funding to ensure continuity and
the commitment at the community and Nation level will
reverse the declining use of the language. |

This additional programming to save the
language should be divided into band school, school
district, Band and Tribal Council level programming
with Immediate, 2-3 year, and 5 year goals that are
all measurable. |
